Honey and Soy Braised Chicken Wings are one of our favorite dishes to make at home. When you see our recipe, you’ll understand exactly why it gets featured so often on our weekly rotation of favorite dishes! Our recipe is no fuss but packed with maximum amount of flavor. This is a delicious side dish that pairs very well with rice, just like Taiwanese sausages!
THE INGREDIENTS
There are a ton of brands out there for soy sauces and you might already have your favorite that you keep in your kitchen. If you don’t, we personally use Kikkoman soy sauce. We find that the flavor is always consistent and it is a good quality for the price. You can find Kikkoman online or in the Asian aisle at your local grocery store. If you use a different brand, no worries. This recipe works for all brands of soy sauces.
We keep Five Spice Powder constantly in our Asian cooking and we recommend you keep some in your kitchen as well. Five Spice Powder (also sometimes seen as Chinese Spice Powder) adds a beautiful depth of flavor to your cooking that salt and pepper can’t even come close to mimicking. It is not an expensive spice and your local Asian grocery store will carry several brands for it.
ENJOY YOUR MEAL
We usually eat these Honey and Soy Braised Chicken Wings with rice. There’s a lot of flavor to these wings. We think a simple bowl of rice really highlights all the flavor packed on the chicken. Some people prefer to sprinkle some spring onions on top of the chicken wings. However, we don’t feel that it adds too much to the already delicious chicken. That said, if you feel inspired to do that, please let us know what you think!
